A credible source suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature a 56% increase in durability compared to its predecessor.
This increase in durability is attributed to a titanium frame and upgraded Gorilla Glass.
Ahmed Qwaider, a well-known tipster, shared on X (previously Twitter) that the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s titanium frame is expected to be 56% stronger than the Armor Aluminum used in the Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy S23 Ultra.
This indicates a shift from the previous aluminum frame as Samsungadopts a sturdier frame for its next generation.
Interestingly, Apple also transitioned to a titanium frame for the iPhone 15 Pro series, citing enhanced strength.
There have been no claims about the use of a titanium frame in the Samsung Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus.
Additionally, it’s speculated that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature an advanced version of Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Expectations include the debut of Gorilla Glass Armor screen protection, which would further enhance the smartphone’s durability beyond that of the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The tipster also hinted at the possibility of a 2600 nits peak brightness for the premium model.
Moreover, the smartphone is expected to come with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and an expandedvapor chamber as part of the cooling system, designed to keep the chip’s temperature 1.9 times.
While the new generation is expected to launch in January 2024, the company has not yet announced a specific date.
A reliable Samsung insider, Tech_Reve, has released inventory listings for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra, revealing the base colors, memory, and storage configurations for the eagerly awaited handsets.
Four color options will be available across the range: black, grey, violet, and yellow, conveniently aligning with the four main colors of the included wallpaper.
As with previous releases, Samsung has offered exclusive colors to specific handsets and configurations, and it’s likely that this will continue with the new range.
The RAM capacity may disappoint the community. Over the summer, several online benchmarking sites displayed a 16 GB smartphone with model numbers corresponding to the S24 Ultra.
Given the increasing memory demands of AI-based applications, this could be a potential weakness in an otherwise impressive package from Samsung.
